Wakefield Festival of Beer has ample to sample
We are very proud to be sponsoring the 4th Wakefield Festival of Beer on the 24th and 25th June, and this popular festival promises to be a much larger event this year.
Independent brewers from across the North West will be showcasing their beers from the palest of ales through to the darkest porters, as well as well as imported lagers. If cider is your tipple you won’t be disappointed either as there will be some of the region’s most popular brewers in attendance. There will even be wine and prosecco on offer.
There’s going to be lots going on over the two days and there is plenty of space at the fabulous Unity Hall . As well as the large range of craft beers and ciders (there will be around 106 to choose from), there will be loads of street food and some great bands doing the entertaining.
The festival has the community at its core. It relies on sponsorship to raise money for local charities. Last year they raised more than £10,000 and are hoping to raise at least £15,000 this year. The worthy causes whose coffers they are hoping to swell considerably are:
Round Table Community Service
The Round Table are the event organisers. The Community Service supports people, community groups and worthy causes in the Wakefield area.
Wakefield District Down’s Syndrome
This Volunteer-run group supports families in Wakefield and the surrounding areas affected by Down’s Syndrome.
Wakefield Hospice
Wakefield Hospice has for many years provided the highest level of care for people who have advanced active, progressive and life threatening illnesses.
